Hello there! I am glad you have stopped by!
My name is Laura and I have this is my little space in the *world wide web* to share about my passions, desires, news and fun things about my life, exciting things about my family, favorite recipes, random favorite things etc; this is specially for those people I once met and have for some reason either lost connection with or have gotten caught up in the busyness of life and simply hadn't had the chance to talk to.
For those who don't know me- I am a 100% Mexican blood, (born and raised in Mexico) girl who fell in-love with God and decided to follow Him "to the ends of the World" literally! Except that then I did not know what that really meant. Well, I left everything I once knew to follow God's plan for my life and enrolled in a Missionary School to soon be involved in full-time ministry. Well, God had other plans and in that school I met my beloved husband Jon.
We got married in July of 2007 and I moved to Minnesota to live with him. You can read more about our Love Story here!
We both knew we wanted to be in ministry for the rest of our lives, but God's will has taken us different places (not necessarily ministry) to teach us about Him, life & each other. We lived in Jon's home-town St. Michael, Minnesota for about 18 months and then we moved to Austin, Texas. We lived in Texas for about 14 months and when we found out we were expecting little Eli we moved to Iowa by our best friends. We bought a house in a tiny farmer's town and right now we are in the process of "re-making" it.. well, more like we are making it our own.
It was really hard for me to be still and let God be God. I wanted to jump on a plane and go to the most remote places in Africa right after my wedding, but that wasn't exactly God's plan. We are still in the States and we are living like a normal family, working and working on the house.
God has REALLY (and I mean REALLY) taught me to be patient. I moved to the US knowing NO ONE, barely speaking the language, not being able to drive, not having my own home or space (we lived with my in-laws for 18 months!!) and living everything close to my heart far far away. My character has been and continues to be changed to be more like God's own. I am NOT perfect and I do not desire to be, I just want to be teachable and am willing to improve. I know that there is more to life than just putting up with the old. I know there is more to life than pushing my feelings under a rug. Jesus came to save me and to deliver me into a GREAT LIFE! I am willing to hold on to that promise and enjoy everything He has for me.. even if it means to live far away from my loved ones and work hard for my family every single day of my life.
I have REALLY learned to enjoy being a house-wife while running my own In-Home Daycare at the same time. I LOVE being a mother. Eli is THE BEST gift I have ever gotten. I LOVE baking and cooking (cooking specially!) I am NOT quite the baker but I keep trying.I love to learn new things. I love organization (though I am NOT the best at it). I love watching movies after a long day of work and I love the Food Network!
We are a happy family! We really love babies and keep hoping to add a little one to our family soon! It is on God's hands and He knows the timing... in the mean time, we do our share! ;)
Thank you for reading and getting to know me a little bit better!!
Have a good day!
